1) Lena wants to purchase a house.

2) In a white neighborhood, Lena turns over the rest of the rupees to Walter, asking him to save the right amount for Beneatha’s schooling.

3) Walter lets go all the money in the liquor store fraud.

Karl, a white man, comes to buy Younger’s house. Walter thinks that this the only way to get some money for his family. In the play’s ending moment, Walter has to the rights of his family and standing up for his ego. Fortunately for the Youngers, Walterprotected his family’s rights and rejected Karl’s present. The household will move into their new home.

Walter See Younger:Walter is the protagonist of the play. He has so many dreams in this play. He wants to invest the money into liquor store venture. Throughout the game, he struggles to solve the problems of his family.

Travis Younger –  Walter and Ruth’s young son. Travis loves to play outside with the children of neighbors. He earns some money by carrying grocery bags.

Joseph Asagai – A Nigerian student, Beneatha’s lover. Asagai feels very proud of his African heritage. And Beneatha wants to learn about her African culture. He eventually proposes marriage to Beneatha and hopes she will return to Nigeria with him.

George Murchison – A wealthy, African-American man who courts Beneatha. He challenges the ideas and emotions of black people by his arrogance and flair for intellectual competition.

Mr. Karl Lindner –  The white character of the play. Karl asks the Youngers a deal to reconsider moving into his (all-white) neighborhood.

Bobo – Bobo one of Walter’s friends. He looks to be as mentally lazy as his name indicates.

Willy Harris – He is also the friend of Walter. Willy never appears onstage and coordinator of the liquor store.

Mrs. Johnson – The Youngers’ neighbor. Mrs. Johnson takes advantage of the Youngers’ hospitality and warns them about moving into a predominately white neighborhood.
